Any thoughts about external 128GB instead of Flash Drive? (4 replies)

I just saw some really in-expensive (cheap?) external SSD, e.g

Are they faster than usb 3 flash drives on a Pogoplug E02 or on a GoFlex net? Could I safely put a swap on them? Most importantly: Can I boot from them? I didn't manage to boot from an Apple SSD (256GB) in a Transcend housing, possibly because the "non-aligned partition" messages in fdisk which I did not manage to get rid of?

Any ideas?
