I've been doing a lot of reading about flashing the Dockstar with Debian. Most of what I see is instructions and tutorials on how to flash and troubleshoot. What I want to know is: what are the benefits and/or cool ways to use the Dockstar once I've flashed?
I have a stock GoFlex Home and really like the simple interface, how easy it installed, and having access via the web. Is there anything with Debian that can make my Dockstar function similarly?
Basically I'm trying to implement a solution for a friend who has an external drive connected to her laptop via USB at all times. I want to free her of this by using my Dockstar to make her external drive a NAS (but I want to get rid of all things Pogoplug). Is this a simple task? How about mapping it to a drive on her laptop so that all she has to do is drag and drop?
