I've got an older computer that takes DDR2 memory, 4 x 2GB. Last summer I bought RAM from China (labeled New Micron) that had modules on both sides, and one was defective right out of the mailer, smelled burnt! They replaced that stick and for a time I had four. Then one of them burnt.
So I found a US supplier who has single-sided RAM branded A-Tech. Works great. But I thought single-sided RAM is low density and that may not be the case.
Left to my own devices I might buy the other pair so they're all single-sided and are matched in that regard. Good idea?
